Unlike some other recreational areas nearby, Carderock rarely has a full parking lot, and is often less populated than some others. McCrillis Gardens is a shady woodland property with a lot of natural beauty. This park in a residential neighborhood covers 5 acres. The gardens feature winding paths, bulbs, shade-loving perennials, ground cover, ornamental trees and shrubs and shrubs.
It's a great place to bring a dog on a leash and enjoy a nice sit on a bench in the cozy garden. The trails are not so extensive that visitors must stay for hours to enjoy the park. Even short visits of 45 minutes are adequate for most.
